So often when someone begins their career in Network Marketing, we tend to focus all on the money aspect of it – how much do you want to make this month? Next month? Next year? etc.
And, the important thing to keep in mind is that MONEY is nothing more than a means to an end. It’s not the tangible dollars that we want – it’s what that represents to us!
Getting kids out of day care; firing a boss who disrespects us; saying “I quit” before hearing – “You’ve been downsized.”
Make sure you always get to the heart of the WHY in your prospect or new team partner.
Here are four statements that are extremely common, especially among women, when asked what she is looking for in a business –
1. I want more time for my family.
2. I want XXX to be proud of me. (Often this is a parent or spouse.)
3. I want something of my own; to be able to say – I DID THIS!!!
4. I want respect.
So, your first step is to see how YOU might fit into this. For me, I wanted to be able to say – “I beat the odds! I made it to the top! I DID THIS!”
What is it for you?
Then, with that understanding within yourself, you can more easily get to and relate to the answers from your prospects or team partners.
Remember to ask “WHY is this important to you?” This takes is further in depth and gets even further into the why.
And, when you can connect a prospect or team partner to his/her why EMOTIONALLY, you have a much stronger chance for success!
