Blogging in Your MLM Business
In today’s podcast, I’m going to share the steps I used to get my Online Hub of the Universe running. These are simple steps if you don’t “major in the minors” and let the small details stop you from getting started.

Have you ever asked yourself – “Why do I need a blog in my Network Marketing Business? I’m on Facebook and post video to YouTube; have my company website – so why do I need to be blogging?”

(Note: you can build a highly successful Network Marketing business offline with no need for a blog. This is for those who want to benefit from the tools the Online World offers.)

Blogging is a great way to get your message out there, while you enhance and expand your credibility, leadership and reach online. It helps you connect with your prospect; it positions you as an expert; and it creates content that stays out there in the search engines forever. You’ve heard of attraction marketing, right? This is a big piece of that.

Your blog or website is really your home base online. It’s where you do business. It’s where you solidify the trust and relationship that is important for building your network marketing or party plan business.

You can create raving fans through your blog when you are consistently offering value in your content.

And, never forget – you don’t own your Social Media sites – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and more – these are great, but remember how fast MySpace went out of style? Same could happen at any time with any Social Media site that you are basically parked on – for FREE!

On this podcast, we will cover the basics of getting a blog set up; how to create great content for your blog and things to focus on.

Go to JackieUlmer.com/hosting

Decide on your domain name – your name or something catchy, JackieUlmer.com or if your name is taken and you have a reason not to use it, something like StreetSmartWealth.com, which is getting a makeover!

Log in using the email details you get immediately, and you’re right at the dashboard, scroll down and find the icon FANTASTICO, click it and follow the prompts. I have included screenshots in the WordPressSetUp BLOG guide.

You are off to the races.

Now, you have a place to promote your first blog post and create what we call static pages. Static pages include your About Me page.

Posts are new content you add regularly.

You may not love the initial look, but just get it started. Mine has evolved over time. Relax, it’s step by step and you’ll get there. See the Resources below for a recommendation at Fiverr for a header for your blog!

Other pages – About me, Start Here, Work with Me, general explanation of MLM as a business model, etc. Explore other sites and see what you like. Don’t blatantly copy content but ideas are fine.

Understand a little about SEO, or Search Engine Optimization – write these concepts down and google them or explore videos on Youtube to understand more – keywords, headlines, meta description, meta title, keywords within the body. And always remember social engagement is a great way to bring traffic back to your site.

All of these play into your site/page ranking in Google. Search Engine traffic is great, and it’s not everything so don’t get bogged down.
