It’s often not who you THINK is going to be great in your business – it’s who you may be overlooking. Do you often find yourself pre-judging people, thinking they might not be interested because they are “too busy” or already successful? Do you know, I have almost NEVER been approached by those in Network Marketing?
I often wonder how many times I have sat next to someone on a plane, or stood in line at Starbuck’s and the person next to me is in a network marketing business.
Think about the many people you may run into as you are out and about in your day.
How about the Coffee Barista who fills your order each morning, and remembers just how you like your coffee.
Maybe it’s your friend, Frank’s wife, who just had their second baby and they are struggling to make ends meet on one income.
There is also the countless college students who are coming out of college with $50,000-$100,000 in debt and no idea where they will be employed or how they will pay off that debt. Does any of that sound familiar?
Maybe you aren’t prejudging them, but are just so busy chasing your day to day life that you don’t have your ” business ears” on all throughout your day.
Since our business is built on relationships, I am going to encourage you to build on those relationships that are all around you. Reach out to the Coffee Barista and ask some questions. Don’t pounce on him/her with your business to begin with, or say how great he/she would be. Just ask some questions.
“You seem to really enjoy what you do, how did you come to work here?”
“Do you have a family?”
When you take time to ask questions, and truly listen and get to know people, that will reveal all kinds of insights to you! And, you may be amazed at how perfectly your business might fit into solving a problem they are experiencing. But, unless you open up that door, you won’t know!
Who might you be overlooking? Get out that notebook and make a new list!
