Seeing Through the Fog In Your Business

Do You Ever Feel Stuck in the Fog While Building Your Business

.

In his great book, “Dare to Dream and Work to Win; Understanding the Dollars and Sense of Success in Network Marketing” Dr. Tom Barrett shares his struggles to achieve success in network marketing. He uses a great analogy about the Fog in London.

.

I love this chapter because I believe it represents what ALL Network Marketers go through in their business journey . The key to success is to navigate THROUGH the fog!

.

Here are some things to consider:

It’s easy to lose your vision when you are in the fog. You can’t see where you are going; you wonder if you should turn around and go back; it can seem like you are barely moving; almost crawling.

You may feel like you are all alone; the only one who has ever experienced this. But you are not alone, and you are actually in great company.

Even when you are totally sold on your company, products, team, compensation plan, etc., it can still be a journey through the fog and into the “land of abundant opportunity.”

What we know by studying the success stories of others is that it is just a matter of continuing to put one foot in front of the other. In Network Marketing, that equates to talking to one more person, and then one more person, and then one more person.

It means learning NOT to take things personally; not to assume that because the first 10 people you speak with tell you no, you must be crazy.

.
Three things are imperative to your success and struggle through the fog:

Consistent, focused effort – action steps that produce results over time

Duplication – working with those on the team who want to also grow a team. Not everyone does, and that is okay.

Time – it doesn’t happen overnight. Pure logic shows us that it takes time to grow the geometric shape of a successful Network Marketing business.

Do you have the vision, even in the fog, to take on these 3 principles and keep going? Discipline is the price of success!

  1. Aloha Jackie,

Thank you for bringing this wonderful book back to the front of my mind. Everything you wrote is so true and when we are in the “fog”, we can’t see straight. It’s so important to “hang around” successful people especially during these times.

Yes, consistency and being persistent is the key. And as we say “hang around the flagpole” and keep on going.

Thank you for your wisdom and insight!

    Much aloha,

Thanks Kellie! It’s a great book and one that I read SO long ago! I was fortunate to hear him speak way back as he was a rep in my first company.

It’s funny, and I have repeated this over and over lately, but it’s so true – success in ANYTHING and certainly Network Marketing is about consistency and persistence. Keep at it and develop that skill set!

    I appreciate you!
