Well, I had the three way call that literally blew my mind, recently. I did a previous article on understanding how and why to use a 3 way call with your sponsor, and I practice this with my own team.
So, we are well into the conversation, and he is telling me all of the reasons why he has not been successful at any of the other dozen or so opportunities that he has “tried.”
After he gets done blaming everyone, including the cat (but not himself at all!) I readied myself to ask some probing questions and see if he is really a viable prospect for my business and team.
So, I asked – “What do you consider to be the perfect business for you? What would that look like? What would you day consist of?”
Here is what he said, and I will say, I was speechless for just a moment –

Well, on the other hand, he was asked what his view was of a “perfect” business, so it looks like he
answered according to his “wish”. Perhaps if the question had been posed as “what would be the perfect REALISTIC business”, etc. he would of answered with a “business minded perspective”. Clearly, he doesn’t seem to have that type of mind set. After reading some comments, I actually felt sorry for him. One for being
unrealistic and might continue to be in a “spiral” of continued self defeating results in any business.
If only he saw what we see!âĶa SOC rainbow! Thank you Miss Ulmer for all your support. N.KY fan from afar.

Actually, based on the rest of the conversation, I think he sadly has bought into the hype of “internet riches!” There are some great copywriters out there who sure make it seem easy. Success in any type of business requires hard work to get it started and going!
Thanks for sharing and I appreciate your feedback!

Hello Jackie,
This guy needs to understand the Law of Attraction. Whatever you get in life is in direct proportion to what you put in. Success is like a rubber ball. You must throw it against the wall before it to comes back to you. The ball (success) doesn’t just come to you. “For every action there’s an equal, and opposite reaction.” Newton. He needs to open his mind, and get real.

Zig Zigler told a story years ago about a king who sent wise men out in the world and he told them to find me the wisdom of the ages, years later they came back and all of them said the same thing "THERE AIN'T NO FREE LUNCH.

Isn't that the truth? I wonder if he really believed what he was saying?

Wouldn’t that be nice! To lay in bed while the checks roll in…
Since that won’t happen, I’m happy to work and celebrate when the checks DO ROLL in!

Hi Jackie,
Great quick video. And yes wouldn’t we all love something that we can just lay in bed and the checks roll in. But since that won’t happen…we will keep working and celebrate our work with checks that WILL come in!
Jackie Ulmer says
Yes, wouldn’t it be great. We can create an income that allows us to take long periods of time off, of course, but it means getting in the trenches and working full out for 2-5 years to create that! Same as any successful business!
Thanks Louann!

Oh my Jackie, I would have chuckled at this guy too.
I’d thank him for sharing his vision of his perfect business. Then say, I’m not sure there is such a business, but I hope he’s successful finding it. One thing I am sure of though, is that what we have to offer would not be the right fit for him, because it requires a person to get out of bed everyday and go to work, ð I’d wish him good luck on his search and thank him for his time. Next!

I know, right? That’s kind of what I did – wish him good luck! He’ll need it!

Thanks< Jackie, for reminding us why this is a 'sorting' business. He certainly doesn't understand business and has no concept of what it took to start those companies where he was formerly employed. Perhaps he was thinking of welfare!
Jackie Ulmer says
Thanks Cyndy! Yes, the more we sort, the stronger our team becomes! Thanks for sharing!

Hi sometimes because of fear that the "prospect" will not accept our invitation we give the impression that anybody and without any effort can make it and that is not true. Is better to always be honest and explain that Network Marketing is a wonderful business and has many good qualities but it needs work and effort specially at the start. Better to have solid foundation from the very beginning.

That's why it is important to qualify prospects first. Our goal should not be to "just sign anybody up." Without a true commitment, failure is imminent. And, I would rather not sign someone up than have them fail. Thanks for sharing your opinion!

A business where the checks keep rolling in, even when he is lying in bed doing absolutely nothing? I may have exclaimed, “Oh, it sounds like you are running for Congress!”
Tom Doiron says
I think he had been responding to biz opp ads from the National Inquirer which had him convinced such a fantasy business exists. He expects the reward without the work. I would take it away by telling him "no" first.
Jackie Ulmer, Street Smart Wealth Group says
He was certainly a piece of work. Unemployed, too, I might add. Not our target audience or team partner!

Love your answer Jackie!
This guy was definitely trying to test you and your team member when he said that.
I think when someone answers that way, they’ve almost convinced themselves in a way that network marketing is a pyramid scheme and they’re at the point of blaming others for their work ethic.
It’s too bad, because in reality every type of business takes hard work and sweat equity. That’s why 97% of people fail in any type of business at the beginning (not just in MLM). It’s not easy at first and you have to find it within yourself to buckle down and take action, before you can ROCKET TO THE TOP!!
Great blog and video Jackie!

Thanks Meghan! It’s a fun and funny business! Tests us and educates us at the same time!
I appreciate you!
