Your Prospect Must See the Value in Network Marketing
As an online marketer, it’s important to think a little differently about how you share your business and sell yourself! After all, your prospect always want to know – what’s in it for me? Your website and the funnel you take them through must share this in a strong way!
Think about the last twenty sites that you looked at promoting a home based business. How many had clear contact information on it? A phone number? An address? A story? A picture? The person’s “why” for building this business? What was on each of those sites that would make you feel comfortable and trusting of the person promoting the site?
If your research has been like mine, I’m guessing there is very little that is unique about the majority of those sites.
Content is so important online and the words that you choose will make all of the difference in establishing a relationship before the phone conversation even starts. Avoid using hype or “pitching” too much. Avoid making promises and income claims. Share stories and testimonials that will engage your reader and allow him to see himself in that scenario.
Your site does not have to be super elaborate, with lots of blinking banners and flash. In fact, the less of this, the better. The last thing you want is to irritate or distract a visitor to your site. Online, the old saying of “a picture paints a thousand words does not apply. A good website is one that is well written and could “sell” without a single picture or graphic.
Your story and your personality are the key to a successful site, and the more you can get your values, your commitment and your integrity across to your visitor, the better off you will be. Your web site will act as a well done infomercial, of sorts, and it will work for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It’s not about hype, half-truths, or any of the things we have all often seen in Network Marketing.
A personal website will serve as the hub for all of your marketing efforts. A simple direction of people to your web site will provide them all they need to qualify themselves as a lead for your business or your product. Also, remember that a personal web site has a much higher chance of being ranked in the search engines, bringing highly targeted traffic to you. Not so with your company or replicated site.
Your site is going to sell you first and your company second. This is very important because you want to brand yourself and not your company. So, your first goal online (after getting them to your site to begin with!) is to begin to develop the relationship. This is done with quality content that is warm, authentic, believable and without hype. I cannot stress this enough.
So, what does your story need to say? What if you don’t have a story that “sells” you as a master Network Marketer and huge business builder? Relax! Those things are irrelevant! Your story needs to “sell” you. That’s what people buy into first! Don’t worry if you haven’t experienced wild success in Network Marketing. That will come.
Right now, people want to feel they have something in common with you. They want to see your picture, know that you are trustworthy; not some online scam artist out to take their money. Success online involves weaving your personality into your site.
