Well, did you toss out the old and ring in the new Saturday night? I sure did and WOW – did I have a complete perspective shift on Saturday.

I like to take time in the morning on each New Year’s Eve and do my “close out” of the year that is ending. And, this year was no exception. And, it was REALLY revealing both with what my focus was, and wasn’t and I know now where to keep my energy for 2012.

At a class on Prosperity many years ago, I learned stop walking by pennies and random change that I might find on my daily walk or while out and about. These are gifts from God and are an assurance of the abundance that is there for us.

Now, I have to admit, there have been many times that it felt a little awkward to bend down and pick up a “lowly” penny – when out with a crowd; at an event with people I don’t know; hiking with a group, etc.

But, I have remained committed to this principle for years and have a glass jar of my “collection” on my “dream shelf.”

Last year, during a particularly stressful time, I started finding pennies nearly every day on my morning walk. I walk in a very rural area, so it’s not like there is a lot of traffic daily for pennies to just “show up!” But, nearly every day, I would find between one and three. This became my sign from God that all would be fine, and to keep the faith.

Sometimes, toward the end of my walk, I would find myself starting to feel panicked if I hadn’t found one yet. I would quickly reassure myself to relax and believe and sure enough, one would show up along my path.

This summer, I decided to really “test things” and started asking for dimes. Ask and Ye Shall Receive, right. So, ask I did. And, sure enough, dimes started to show up.

After a few months, I asked for quarters. Now, these did not come as frequently but, come they did. I feel that my belief was not as strong that quarters would show up, so I started really working on that belief! If pennies, why not quarters?

Two weeks ago, I got out of my car and 62 cents was lying at my feet.

Yesterday, I pulled 2 envelopes out of a drawer to mail something and $25 was tucked inside one.

I can try hard to rationalize that one, but I can come up with no likely reason why 1 ten and 3 five dollar bills would be tucked in an envelope, buried in a stack of 13 others. Any ideas?

I choose to believe in the abundance of the universe; in asking and receiving, as long as you believe, and the magic that surrounds us!

2. Put yourself into massive action the next 7 days by contacting as many people as you possibly can. Don’t hold back; don’t pre-judge; let go of fear.

3.The next week, follow up with everyone you contacted. Don’t wait for them to call; most won’t.

4. Sponsor and train those who are ready.

5. Work closely with them to repeat the process

6. Look for those who are ready and keep repeating the process yourself!

What is a leader? Well, it’s one who leads, right?

Many people are actually afraid of leadership, but look below at these qualities and see if there is anything here you would like to be in your own life and business -

Qualities of a Leader

Leaders take action, make things happen and achieve goals.

Leaders develop partnerships.

Leaders are persistent and consistent.

Leaders are self-confident, have belief and a strong self-image.

Leaders are thoughtful, sincere and truly care about others

Leaders are involved in constant and never-ending improvement.

Leaders have written goals, and review them regularly.

Leaders listen more, and talk less.

Leaders have a passion and vision for the business, and they share it.

Leaders have the ability to attract and magnetize others.

Leaders are courageous and inspire others to action and accountability.

Leaders keep picking themselves up and continue on in spite of perceived failure, rejection and frustration.

Leaders encourage, acknowledge and empower the successes of others.

This is a benchmark you can use regularly in your business to rate your leadership abilities. On a scale of 1 (low) – 10 (high), where do you rate, truthfully? Where do you want to rate?

Your vision is the picture that you have of yourself, your life and your future.

Whether you like it or not, it is also what you are living right now. Whatever is your dominate focus in your life is creating your reality.

If you are experiencing lack in your life, check your focus. You will find that you are spending most of your time focused on what you are lacking. You can turn this around by focusing only on what you desire.

It’s impossible to have vision and worry at the same time. If worry is holding you back, you must replace that worry with vision.

“What you worry about will come about!”

Now, think about that another way.

“What you visualize will actualize!”

Isn’t that much better?

Did you know that your mind does not distinguish between what is real and what is imagined?

Have you ever had a dream, and upon awakening, it was still so real and vivid in your mind that your heart was racing, or your emotions were charged?

So, what if you could fool your mind into creating your perfect life?

You can change the entire direction of your life by replacing worry with vision. And, it all starts with writing your vision down.

Take a clear look at your past. How much of it has been dictated by worry, fears, false assumptions, and a scarcity mentality?

Most people put their focus on what they lack, instead of clearly visualizing what they want.

The more time you spend in “feeling” anticipation for something great about to happen in your life, the quicker your life will change, and begin to look more like the life you desire!

Begin to write the vision of your perfect life, in addition to your dream book.

Ask and answer these questions while you do this -

If time and money was not an obstacle….

Where would I live?

What would my house be like?

What kind of car would I drive?

What would my family be like?

What type of trips would we take?

What type of charities would I donate to?

How would I spend a typical day?

What type of work would I do?

How would my health be?

What types of food would I eat?

What would be my greatest accomplishment?

What words would be spoken about me by others?

What would my funeral be like?

Now, the funeral part may seem a little morbid, I realize.  But, when you think about it, your funeral really sums up the life you lived.  How do you want yours summed up?

Have fun with this task and get VERY creative and dream VERY big.  After all, life is known to give you what you ask for.  You don’t want to discover you asked for the wrong things!  It’s like going through the drive through – you better check your order before you drive off!

Get your vision VERY clear in your head.  Write out your “perfect day”, answering the above questions.  Make several copies of it.  Keep one on your nightstand and read it each morning and last thing before you fall asleep.  Your subconscious works while you sleep. Keep one in your day timer and one at your desk.

Your Vision is far more powerful than your goals, and will lead you to and through your goals.  That is why you must have a very clear, precise vision and stay very close to it.

This is not a new topic, by any means. It’s been pondered for decades, really, and yet not a lot really seems to be changing.

Goals.

We hear about them all of the time, right? If you are involved in Network Marketing, any type of sales job or anything involving true self motivation to get the job done, you’ve likely been told to set some goals.

And, this can be a challenge, or at least it has been for me!

It has been extremely daunting to me to sit down with a blank piece of paper and chart out all that I want to accomplish. Have you ever struggled with this?

I’m going to share with you how I have overcome this, and managed to create exactly what I want.

I set goals – sure. But more specifically, I focus on intentions. My intentions. After all, that is all I can control. I can sponsor 8 people this month, and that is great. But I can not control who is going to actually work the business, take action, set their own goals, or intentions.

I do know that as long as I do my job, and get people started right; be there to support them; and set a solid example, some of them are going to take action.

So, I set my intentions as follows:

Speak 2 minimum of 2 people a day about my business

Follow up 3 times with prospects

Share the online system with 10 people each week

Sponsor, train and get 2 people started

Blog once a week, generating leads

Create one new video weekly, generating new leads

Engage on Social Media daily

Whatever it takes!!!

These are activities I can control, for the most part. I can not control how many people I sponsor, or who actually experience my business product online, but I know based on history that if I do my part with contact, the rest falls into place.

Dream, Have, Do, Be

“All our dreams can come true – if we have the courage to pursue them.” -Walt Disney

At what age is it that most of us stop dreaming?

When we are children, we dream amazing dreams and believe that we can have, do or be anything. And, many of us grow up with parents who encourage us to believe it, too.

So, when does it change? When does doubt, disbelief and “reality check” overcome us?

If I asked you to write down ten things you really want to have, do or be, how easily could you complete that list? Would you struggle?

I want to encourage you to dream again. Dream, and hold nothing back!

It’s the only way you are going to ever live the life of your dreams!

Success in Your Network Marketing Business
Starts With Focused Action

You can create the discipline you need in your business if you will create a very simple business filter that you apply to every step you take each day around your MLM or Party Plan business building activities. You need to be prospecting, sponsoring, creating business packets, etc.

These are all part of the process and yet how much time do you spend each day “lost” on Facebook; reading mindless threads in online forums; sorting through emails; etc?

This short video is going to coach you on how to create a business filter for success. In a nutshell, I ask myself  before I begin any activity during the time that I have blocked for business:

Is this activity moving me closer to achieving my goal for today?

My goals for the future?

If the answer is YES – I proceed.

If the answer is NO – I re-evaluate and focus on what can and will get me there!

How was your “Twenty-Ten?” Was it all that you had hoped it would be? Did you accomplish your goals, dreams and wildest aspirations?

Does it ever seem like the road is long, and it’s taking forever to get there? Like you’ll never quite get it done? We may be at the end of the year, but we might also be at the beginning of the journey. Life IS a journey. It’s a marathon and not a sprint. And having a good roadmap for the marathon is a key part of it.

2010 did not turn out at all like I had thought that it would when it began. In fact, it is quite different, in every sense of the word. And yet, it has shaped up to be even better. Sometimes, being open to the unexpected and not fearful of change is what will allow us to reach our destination much more quickly. And in the way we are intended.

It was a year of excellence in my family. Everyone had a healthy, productive and truly exceptional year, and we are so grateful and appreciative. It was also a year of excellence in health. We are all healthy and grateful for that.

It was an interesting journey along my career path and business. Life presented many opportunities and I was inspired with the thought to “let go and take a leap of faith.” And, that is exactly what I did.

In early spring, I took a “Business Passion Quiz” and came to the stark reality that I had lost my zest for pursuing my business goals, as they were currently written out. I was not following my authentic path; or building “my own perfect beast.” Somehow, I had sidetracked myself into doing “the status quo.” Maybe I was playing small; taking the easy path, or even hiding?

This led me to do some careful soul searching and ponder some serious decisions. Should I just “chase a paycheck” or should I make some business changes in order to build my own business that is in more in alignment with my values, interests and business skill set? My son was turning 18 and wanted to stretch his wings in a business, too. I have had a huge passion and goal for building an international, internet based business since October, 1999 when I started online.

I have been fortunate to have built two multi-million dollar business skill sets. (With the help and support of some great mentors!) These include how to successfully build a network marketing organization and how to use the power of the internet to get ranked at the top of Google; develop a brand in Social Media and attract my target audience, generating leads and business sign-ups.

All of these opportunities, questions and signposts led me to make some exciting changes. Here are some changes I made; and some things I learned. This is my 2010 in Retrospect:

1.  I started a new business partnership with a friend, helping small, local and home/direct sales businesses get launched on the Internet; found on Google; and creating a buzz on Social Media. Online tools are the “new” yellow pages and newspapers, and we know how to get people “found!” (Taking advantage of what I have learned and mastered over 11 years online now!) 2. As a family, we added a new network marketing business component. This fits in perfectly with assisting home, Direct Sales and small businesses with their customer attraction and retention; is highly internet based and follows my passion of building an international business. 3. I expanded my coaching, training and educational business for Network Marketers and Online Marketers. I believe so strongly in the power of home business and the internet as a tool for anyone to move a business forward! 4. Not everyone will embrace you or the changes you decide to make, and that is okay. I learned that this past year. We meet many people along our business path. Some are friends before and remain true friends; others are “business friends” and when that business relationship changes, the “friendship” can sometimes go with it. And, some people we met because of our business and they remain lifelong friends regardless of business changes. I am grateful for all of those who have shared this journey with me. I’ve learned so much.

5. Fear of change is deadly. I am passionate about living my life with as few regrets as possible. I don’t want to go “lights out” and realize that I stunted my growth by living in fear; specifically fear of change!

I am so excited about the possibilities that are ahead in 2011. I am embracing what lies ahead and look forward to sharing parts of that path with you, in some capacity.

Is There a Secret Behind Goal Setting and Achievement?

Yes, and it starts with something called “realistic expectation!”  A big mistake that many of us make is believing that some people are born with more drive, ambition, motivation and ability to succeed than others. We stunt our own potential for success when we accept this belief.

Success comes down to a few things, and if you really think about it, you can look at your own goal setting; success rate and failure rate and measure how you are doing.

Success requires effort, strategy, persistence, commitment and personal motivation.And, a realistic expectation of the time and process it will take to be successful.

Instead of looking at these factors, however, we tend to blame our failures on just “not being good at something.” We have a false expectation that achieving our goals means we start out being good, when in fact, we most often start out being mediocre, or worse, down right bad.

But, with those 5 items above – effort, strategy, persistence, commitment and personal motivation – we get better, and become great. Are you willing to stick it out to become great?

Think about your goals and ask yourself – am I willing to put forth effort;  develop a strategy; be consistent in that strategy and taking action; make the commitment and keep myself motivated? And, do I have a realistic expectation of the time involved to get me there?

Try this as you are setting goals and see what happens!

Do You Have a Plan for Creating the Business of Your Dreams?

The challenge that most people face is that even once they get into a business of their own, they don’t take time to plan out exactly what that business needs/wants to look like over time to provide not only the income, but the lifestyle and joy that a home business should provide.

Climbing the LONG Last Hill

Today, when I set off on my morning walk at Ventura Beach, I headed inland toward the foothills of the city.  Although I love walking the beach strand, with the seagulls, surfers, walkers and fresh ocean scent, I wanted a tougher work out.

I’ve walked this area before but as I came around a familiar turn, I saw a steeper road leading up further on the hill than I had ever noticed before. “Oh, geez” I thought. I didn’t want to do it. My immediate instinct was –”no, I’ve done enough, time to head back.” And, that second, small, inner voice said – “C’mon wimp. You wanted a tougher workout. Think how good you’ll feel once you are at the top.”

“I’ll just go half way” said the first small voice and I headed up. I had already put in a solid walk, lots of up and down the foothills, and my heart rate was definitely up. After a 15 second internal battle of the wills, I knew that I had to keep climbing. I had to push myself just a little further and get that extra burn and, more importantly, that feeling of accomplishment!

As I got to the top and turned around to head back down, I stopped in my tracks. The view was stunning. All of Ventura Harbor, the Channel Islands and the wide open ocean spread out before me. A sailboat regatta was just coming out of the harbor along with 2 charter boats of visitors to the islands. Surfer’s Point was off to the right and the water was filled with surfers, anticipating the next great wave. I couldn’t believe my payoff for making the climb!

What if I had cut it short and missed the view from the top? What if I had decided that enough was enough and I would just “settle” for the norm? What if I had let the first small voice win out and determine my destiny for that day?

Do you ever do this in your business? I sure have. My network marketing career has been filled with days of “settling.” I’ve had goals of making 10 dials and stopped after making the first call when someone hung up on me. I’ve made a business plan for the next day and scrapped it in favor of reading a good book because that was easier.

Ultimately, though, over time, I made the decision to keep going. Once I realized that it wasn’t going to kill me, I made the decision to push myself a little more. And, then a little more. And, even more!

There are many hills to climb in building a Network Marketing business and many pop up when you least expect it. Sometimes, you’ll come around a corner and see a really long hill that you hadn’t seen before. You know you’ve walked that path, but you swear that hill wasn’t there before. You have to climb that long, last hill for the day. You have to climb it every time it shows up. You may be tired, out of breath and out of water, but you do have it in you to keep pushing forward.

Just like the view of the harbor from the top of the hill on my walk, the view from the top of your successful network marketing business is incredible. Indescribable, even. Filled with things you can’t even imagine.

On a recent call with John Fogg, he asked me what the best thing has been for me about network marketing. Without missing a beat, or thinking it through, I answered with the very first thing that came to mind – personal peace, satisfaction and the feeling of accomplishment.

It’s not the money; the title; the plaques and awards. Those are nice, and they felt good at the time. But nothing even comes close to the feeling I have knowing that I did it. I hit the top 1% or smaller of network marketers. I pushed against the odds and overcame the biggest obstacle of all, myself, and made it to the top.

Nothing can ever take that away. Nothing. It’s mine and I own it. I want you to own it, too. Put on your walking shoes and take the journey to the top. You can’t even imagine what you will find there.
