We are just getting started and we get asked the “Dreaded Question” – How much are you making in your business?

That can be a real downer if you don’t know how to effectively deal with this question; give the person asking some good feedback and feel confident about your answer and your progress.

Here is what you want to do -

Plan a serious Business Launch – this gives you statistics that you can track and share.

Book your calendar as full as possible in the first 6-8 weeks. Or even create a 90 Day Action Plan.

Develop your income story.

Remember this – most people are asking this because they want to know what they can expect and if “this thing really works.” You don’t have to be earning $10,000 a month for there to be social proof. Making $800 in the first few weeks is enough to create significant interest among your prospects.

Here’s how you do that -

So, let’s here your business plan. Feel free to share in the comments below how you got started; how you plan to get started and how things are going for you. We an use this as a coaching platform to help others as well!

You have great products and a great opportunity, right? Use these as a valuable resource to make $800 – $1500 a month in retail profit; and model for others how they are going to get paid as well. We often skip this very important step in BEING in business. Customers are a big part of it and sales is not a dirty word.

You will have people asking you how they can do this, too. This sets you up for nice, residual income as well.

The power in immediate cash through retail is that it also provides a marketing budget for your business. Teach people how to fund their business building efforts through their business and not from their family budget.

This allows simple, natural sponsoring….

How might this make a difference in your business?

What would an extra $500 – 1500 a month mean to your business?

How much easier do you think it might be to sponsor people into your business if they could actually see you making money? Did you know that the “Retail to Recruit” style of building your business is the most simple, duplicable method there is?

Why? Well, in the traditional style of only offering opportunity, no one ever actually sees money being made. It’s an abstract concept.

Imagine in today’s economy how powerful it would be to show someone how to make $60-100 an hour having fun at a theme party with friends for a couple of hours; demonstrating your products and being social!

Pick a theme; set a date and invite your center of influence over. From there, ask them to host a party for you and share the benefits of what they will get! Watch how your income and your team grows when you learn the proper way to plant the seeds of opportunity with every retail event you create!

Remember – sales is not a dirty word. People buy every day! Present your products proudly and with flair and you’ll be amazed at your results!

Now, let me be the first to say, I have used every one of these, so I’m not picking on you. My goal is to help you see that excuses will get you no where, and the sooner you let go of them, the faster your business will move forward.

Excuse #1 – I Don’t Know What to Do. Now, this could be a viable excuse if your sponsor signed you up and never trained you, or directed you to training. However, if you’ve been trained, or know where to find training for your business, then this is a bogus excuse. We do two things in Direct Sales, whether it is Network Marketing or Party Plan – we get a few loyal retail customers; we find others who want a business and who will do what we do. That means making your list; opening your mouth; using the tools; and follow the age old, time proven techniques. Whether you are working offline, or online, this does not change. You must be talking to people – every day – at least 2.

Excuse #2 – I’ve Talked to Everyone, No One is Interested. Now, there is just no way possible you have talked to everyone. Most of the time, when people use this excuse, they’ve talked to 10 or less people and they’ve gotten discouraged. Here’s the thing – for everyone who tells you NO at first, some of them will come back later and get involved. I did. I certainly didn’t sign up right off the bat. In fact, it was 15 months before I got started. My sponsor didn’t let my NO discourage him. Instead, he kept on talking to people and had promoted to a higher level when I came in, which meant my delay was worth more money to him. So, how many people have you really talked to?

Excuse #3 – Real Life Got in the Way. We all have 24 hours in the day and we all have a real life. We can either choose to manage that 24 hours and real life, or it can manage us. If it manages us, we will likely never achieve what we want. Everyone has challenges. Deal with it. Learn to make adjustments and give up less important things when “real life comes calling.” I used my children as an excuse not to work my business for way too long, even though they were ultimately my reason why. Next time you feel inclined to use the “real life” excuse, take a solid look and see it is just that – an excuse. And if so, how is that ever going to change?

Excuse #4 – The Products Are Too Expensive. Ask yourself if this is someone else’s objections, or in fact your own? Are there people now buying the product? Are there people having success retailing the product? Is there a demand for the product? Do you believe in your product? I know for me, the times I have used this excuse came down to my own personal feelings regarding the products and my opportunity. When you are sold, this “objection” can’t get you down because you know it’s just an excuse. So evaluate closely where you are with things and move forward accordingly.

Excuse #5 – People Are Different in My Town, State, Country. This is a doozy, really. C’mon – people are people and town are towns. In every town, there are high end houses and lower priced houses; people driving expensive cars and people driving a Ford Focus. People are people and it has nothing to do with where you live. It has to do with you, and your mindset. After all, you live in your town and you saw the opportunity, right? Do you honestly believe you are the only one in your town like you?

What you have to do is decide if you want to keep placing blame and finding excuses, or if you want to start taking responsibility and achieving success. The two go together and you won’t have one without the other.

So, cast aside those excuses and define what you are willing to do to have what you want. Then pursue it relentlessly! See you at the top!

Increase Your Sales? Create More Interest in Your Business?

Great, let’s talk about a powerful component to your sales and show process that we often don’t give enough thought to – your word choices! How carefully have you designed the scripts and language that you use in your party, sales and follow up process?

We have a tendency to fall into making our conversations more focused on “I” and “Me” and not nearly enough on “You.” Your goal is to develop a story that engages your audience as part of it.

Surveys have shown that a big complaint among home party attendees is the company representative who tells her/his entire life story. Boring – no one cares. Remember, you are building relationships and creating an interest.

Here are some examples of how to turn an “I” story into a “You” story.

“How would you like to eliminate one bill each month from your budget? That is what I was looking to do when I started this business. Did you know that by doing just one show a week, you could add an extra $800 to your monthly income? What would you do with an extra $800?

This is what I focused on when I started my business. That extra $800 allows me to make the car payment; provide guitar lessons for my daughter; and there is still some “mall money” left for me.

I never thought a career in Direct Sales would be a fit for me, and I was scared to death, actually. What I found, though, is that it’s a fun way to meet people and a great way to spend my “working hours!” It sure beats sitting in a cubicle. If you know of anyone who would like to have fun and add some extra income, I would love to send you home with some information.”

Now, think about how you ask for bookings. The most commonly asked question is – “Would you do me a favor; I really need your help; Would you like to book a party with me?” Yuck – that sounds like all work and no fun for the host! Where is the win-win?

Instead, sell the benefits!

“Sarah, it was so much fun having you here tonight. I would love to spoil you and your friends at a Girl’s Night Out! We could pick a fun theme like a Hawaiian Luau or maybe a Chocolate Lover’s Party? We have several fun themes that you and your friends will love. And, I’ll show you how to get those items on your wish list for free. Let’s get our calendars together and pick a date.”

Now, doesn’t that seem more fun for everyone than – Do ME a favor?

Finally, there is your Opportunity Story – how you share the way your business has changed your life and plant some seeds for others.

You’ll be sharing why you love your company; what is has done in your life so far and the future you anticipate. Consider using a “WHY” bag. This contains visual props that represent your reasons “Why” for your business. Choose 4 or 5 items that tell your story.

These visual aids from your “Why” bag are very powerful in creating the story and impact. This is a bolder explanation of why you are involved; why others have gotten involved and why others might want to get involved.

An example –

“I mentioned my fear of getting started with my business a little earlier, and I wanted to take a couple of moments to share a few more details about my business in case you might be looking for a way to stay home; earn a great income being the boss; or you know someone who might want to find out more.

My husband was the one who first brought home the concept of Direct Sales and Network Marketing. And I was a big fat skeptic. No way was I going to do something like that! I really did not want to know more, but he insisted that I at least explore the potential. Even though I was skeptical, I was surprised to discover that I could not stop thinking about the possibilities that being my own boss and creating some really significant income offered.

What if I could out-earn my airline pilot husband?

One of the first things I did was write down some goals and I would love to share with you a few that have come true as a result of my business with XYZ Company. First, here are pictures of my children, then and now – my goal was to never have them attend day care. I accomplished that goal. They’ve never set a foot in a day care and I was always there to be their room mom; volunteer in the classroom; bake cookies and brownies; go on field trips; bring them home when they did not feel well at school; and be there with them and for them.

Another cool thing our business did was allow us to purchase a boat. We live 7 minutes from the lake and my son is an avid water-skier and wake boarder. You’ll catch us from May to October on the lake several times a week, and we would love to be there even more. (I have a toy model boat to show.)

Now, this next one is really a dream that I have had for years. I have always had the dream of a beach place in Ventura. That dream came true in August 2008, and we now enjoy both a mountain and a beach lifestyle. Here is our cozy place at the beach. We love having family time and entertaining friends there.

Finally, this rock, inscribed with the word PEACE represents peace. For me, it’s peace of mind that comes with no longer worrying about money; lack of time; a boss; a set vacation schedule, etc. The greatest gift for me about this business is the peace of mind it offers.

As you watch what I do, and you are looking for a change, or a little more peace in your life, please let me know if you would like to learn more. There is a place right on the Client Care Card that you can check and I’ll be happy to send you with some information. Relax, you’ll never have to worry about me pressuring you or making it “salesy.” It’s important that the decision be right for you.

If you would like to create a WHY bag and make some things happen in your life, a career with XYZ company might just be right for you. Please let me know. And, if someone comes to mind as you are here, I would be happy to pass on information for them, or contact them directly.”

Remember, make your words powerful, engaging and about your prospect.

Spend a little time with how you might create a story that shares about you, but in such a way that your prospect sees themselves in it, too!

EXPECT Success!

One key to successfully sponsoring more team partners is to ask good questions, find the need and fill it.

Another key is to be helpful in assisting them in getting the information they need to make a wise choice when they are looking at more than one company.

Most people in Network Marketing get excited about a compensation plan, and in most cases, they don’t understand the plan, or what they will need to do personally to attain those “Star Fleet Commander” bonuses that have them so excited to begin with.

In Party Plan, people get excited about a product line, but don’t know how to fully evaluate whether or not it’s a good plan for them in terms of earning an income.

Network Marketing companies often have $150 – 400 monthly autoship requirements and a price point so high on the wholesale end that it is tough to retail any of that monthly product requirement and make a profit.

Party Plan companies typically have $400 – 1000 monthly personal sales quotas in order to get paid and to get paid on one’s downline. And, most only pay 3 levels on a downline.

Know what your own company offers and how you will stack up to other companies being evaluated. Be educated on how your company compares to its primary competitors.

HOWEVER – you don’t have to say all of this to your prospect because then you get into “selling mode” and people tune out. What you can do is say something like this -

“Are you looking at other companies? Here is what I suggest you do so you can make the best decision for you – make sure you get these questions answered for each company you are evaluating -

What are my monthly quotas? What am I required to produce in volume monthly?

How much do I earn in commission on my own retail sales? What are the profit margins?

How much is my monthly autoship? Does this change as I get promoted?

Do I get paid on my downline from the very beginning?

How many levels down does the company pay on a downline?

As I promote, am I required to produce higher volumes?

What do I have to do in order to receive the deepest, wholesale pricing on my orders?

What training and support is in place for me?

This provides EXTREMELY useful information to your prospect and as they go through the process, you will most often come out the winner! Be on your prospect’s side and they will be impressed with your business sense, and the fact that you aren’t trying to sell them into your program. It becomes clear that you want what is best for them.

Give it a try and see what happens!

EXPECT Success!

DOES require true grit staying power.

Yes, it is true that anyone can do this business, and the reality is that most won’t.

Why do some stick it out while others do not?

I believe this largely comes down to the power behind someone’s reason for starting the business in the first place, along with their willingness to shed the “employee mentality, if they have one, and adopt a business owner mentality.

One has to be willing to try, fail, persevere and NOT give up in the face of adversity, or seeming adversity. There are many lessons in this to learn ourselves and to teach our children.

The question has been asked, first by the late, great Jim Rohn, I believe – “How long will you give your baby to learn to walk?” The answer of course is – “As long as it takes.”

Why then, will we not adopt this same attitude in our business? Why do we not realize that we are developing specific business skills that most people do not bring into the business.

The first time one steps onto the basketball court, it is often awkward and very few shots make the basket. Over time, and with consistent practice and “showing up” one gets better. Those who persist, often go on to star on their basketball team’s; go onto college ball and a very few elite will play professional basketball.

In most cases, the professionals are the ones who missed the most shots; practiced the most hours and flat out refused to quit.

Do you have this will power and staying power in you business? What do you want badly enough that your business can bring? How badly do you want it?

Success or failure in a Direct Sales business most often comes down to just refusing to quit when the going gets tough, and persevering to see the job through.

Where do you fit into that?

Have you ever considered trashing your PERFECTLY good business because -

a. No one showed up at your home party/open house?
b. Your first 10 leads said “no thanks!”
c. Your family told you that you might be crazy for doing this?
d. A full year has gone by and you have not sponsored anyone?

You are in the RIGHT place and the RIGHT time and are surrounded by people who have experienced ALL of the above.

Do you have true grit staying power?

I SURE hope so because you will NEVER regret sticking around for the ride.

If your first step “fix it” program does not work, exhaust every other fix along the way and you WILL rise to the top!

I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback below!

The Party Plan business model in Direct Sales offers an incredible platform for building a team; residual income; all while putting immediate cash in your pocket through each event. It creates a perfect scenario for leveraging your time.

It’s funny, my own company has a very strong retail product and while we are not a party plan, I have spent hours lately researching party plan companies to see what they do, and how they do it. I want to offer this type of training and coaching to those on my team who WANT to retail and keep that easy, immediate cash rolling in.

And, I am no party expert so I’m in learning mode.

Party plan companies grow very solid businesses by starting with that warm market list, booking home shows and expanding their contact list through the guests of their friends and contacts. Imagine growing your list each week by 20-30 people, all connected by someone who you have established a relationship with.

Party Plan, when done most effectively, uses each retail event as a strong recruiting platform in their businesses. It’s really quite fascinating and different than some experiences in more traditional “Network Marketing.”

I think the reason for this is that the distributor hosting the party is immediately modeling for the “prospects” how to do the business; the simplicity of the business; and anyone who can do simple math can see the amount of money being made on an hourly basis.

Many people would jump at the chance to work 6-9 hours a week, and earn $67 – 75 an hour. That is in line with what many in my own company are experiencing right now and it is so fun to watch the difference that type if income is making for their families. Especially in this economy.

This is what a party plan company can do, and so it makes the prospecting and sponsoring process a little more simple because it’s not theory. Anyone attending a party and watching can see what the potential is.

With network marketing, we offer the “promise” of part time/full time incomes, but no one actually SEES us earning that income, pocketing that money right then and there.

While I have built both ways, online and offline, I personally prefer the online methods, and yet recognize that it can be a slower way to build; and a more “technical” way to build, which slows some down.

I am also embracing the value in the home party/retail model as well, and learning to factor that into my own network marketing business, for those who want to do that.

And, in today’s economy, I am finding many more people receptive to the idea of “partying for a living!” With the right product; the right price point; and the right personality, this can breathe some life into “old School” methods!

I would love to hear your feedback and stories on how you or your team have used this concept; or how you might see it making a difference in your business.

EXPECT Success!

I’ve got to confess to my internet marketing friends. I did something VERY old school this past weekend. Don’t shudder or gasp when you read this, but I actually had a HOME PARTY with my 14 year old daughter. Yes, you know the kind, where you showcase your product; talk about your opportunity and put cash in your pocket right then. Of, course, I had to split the profits with my daughter, but it was great!

She wants more money to spend; I don’t want to taxi her to a job; she loves our product line, so we made a deal. She made about $40 an hour so needless to say, she is hooked! Yes, we put over $150 in our pockets for two hours and created some lifelong customers.

And, I got a real bonus – I watched my daughter develop her speaking skills (she ran most of the party!!); interact with others and learn some definite business skills at such a young age. Priceless for me, really. It really speaks to the power of a “family business.” We spent very quality time together; had fun; developed ourselves; stepped outside of our comfort zones; and modeled something for others.

More importantly, we had fun. We had a LOT of fun. And, we offered some great products to our friends; created some ongoing customers and booked another party. Yes, we created another opportunity to get in front of others who might also be looking for some way to put fast cash in their pockets quickly.

We are all going to have preferences for how we do things; that’s just the way it is. While I “prefer” to be online, socializing and developing my warm market in that way; the fact remains that great people for our opportunity are out there all of the time.

What opportunities might you be missing by not notifying your warm market? By not getting your message and products in front of those who know you; like you and will listen to your recommendation?

Today, I’m back at the internet game and loving it. But, there will be times you’ll catch me offline, fine tuning my communication and speaking skills!

EXPECT Success!

Jackie Ulmer

If you are trying to balance your Direct Sales – MLM business and your family, and feeling out of sorts, this article is for you. You can build a successful business with small children at your side. I did, so can you!

If you are a MLM WAHM (or even a dad!) building an MLM business and wondering how to keep balance and sanity in your life, then this MLM training segment was written just for you. So, let’s chat – mom to mom; MLM WAHM to MLM WAHM. Dads, too!

First, let me share a little of my story so you’ll know that I’ve “been there, done that” and am not talking some MLM theory. I’ve built my business through baby number one, a pregnancy, baby number two, and on up to my current position of one teenager and one pre-teen. All the while, my kids were at my feet and I was home with them. Simple? No! Fast growing? Nope! Worth it? Every second!

Perhaps like you, when my husband and I decided to have children, we were adamant that one of us would be home with them. Since he was the major breadwinner, that meant I would be home. And, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

But, it’s hard to make it on one income, so I began looking for a business. Long story short, MLM kept coming up, and although I was skeptical, I educated myself and jumped in.

Today, I am happy to be among the ranks of the successful MLM income earners, but it didn’t happen overnight; it wasn’t easy; and there were many times along the way that I wanted to quit. Does this sound familiar to you? Don’t worry, with a few pointers and some true grit, you’ll get there as well.

Here are some ideas that I hope will help you as you move along your MLM journey, especially as a mom building strong kids and a strong business.

1. Get very clear on your reason why. This will sustain you when someone tells you know, or things get slow. Make sure your why is very powerful to you and that it means more to you than what anyone else might say or think. For me, the ability to create a fabulous lifestyle for my family and to never have my kids in day care meant more to me than anyone else’s opinion.

2. Realize that as a mom with small children, you will have to balance and prioritize in a different way. Communicate with your sponsor and your team about your commitment, your priorities and how you will balance the two. Never feel the need to compromise your values in building your MLM business. I didn’t and you don’t have to either.

3. Get organized. And, I mean in every area of your life. Organize your business and your life. Set up one calendar with everything about home and business. Mark out times that are strictly family, and every other non-negotiable time in your life. Then, (and this is important) find times each day that you will work your business. Commit to these times, no matter how small the time frame. Be consistent and don’t procrastinate.

4. Ask for help in anyway that you can. Talk to your spouse about taking the kids for an hour so you can make calls. Talk about splitting up household duties differently. Invest in help as your budget allows. I know hiring a cleaning lady was a priority for me as my business and profits grew. The grocery store can help with this. Buy pre-chopped fresh vegetables; marinated meats; and whatever you can to make things simpler. I am a stickler on healthy meals and nutrition, so I have never resorted to the “fast food” syndrome. Get a crock-pot and use it! Make healthy, delicious meals a snap.

5. Form a babysitting coop with other moms in your area. Then, use it and reciprocate. I used the times I babysat other kids as playtime for my kids, and then used the times when my kids were at a friend’s to work my business. This was an amazing resource for me as my kids never felt like they were at a babysitters. They just saw it as a play date with someone from the play group.

6. Set clear goals and intentions for your business. As Yoda said to Luke in Star Wars II, “There is no try. There is only do, or do not.” Same for your business. Make success non-negotiable. It’s a marathon, and not a sprint. So what if it takes you seven years to become a top income earner, or hit your income goal. Will it be any less worth it? NO! Make it happen.

7. Work on Self Development. MAKE time for it. If you look for time in your schedule, it will never happen. You must make time for your business and make time for the very important task of developing your mindset and growing your business from the inside out. This is the single MOST important ingredient in your business. I’ll share my favorite book by clicking here!

8. Use technology - Today, with the internet and all of the tools out there, keeping in touch: delivering timely information to your prospects; training to your team and even putting yourself out there so that people who are ready and looking for a business NOW can find you through the search engines. Do NOT let technology scare you. I had moderate success in MLM doing it the “old fashioned” way. I created a full time income, but not “obscene money.” Today, using the internet exclusively in my business, I’m a VERY HAPPY MLM WAHM working about 30 hours a week. I’m able to work fewer hours than the “typical networker” because I let technology be my sales force and “PR People!”

9. Get your kids involved – From the time kids are two, and maybe even younger, you can find helpful, fun and educational ways to get them involved in your business. In most MLM businesses, toddlers can place labels on brochures, on products, envelopes, etc. They can fold letters, stamp postcards, and have a great time “working” alongside of mom. Relax, and let go of your perfectionism. When was the last time you paid any attention to how straight the stamp is on a letter you received in the mail?

10. Get them involved in non-business activities, too. My 17 year old son has made dinner for our family many nights. Now, if you are thinking he pulled out the box of Mac-n-Cheese, think again. He made baked chicken with Apricot/Mango Sauce; Quinoa; Green Beans with Pine Nuts and Red Peppers and a salad with goat cheese. I’m really not kidding. I LOVE to cook and have always loved having my children cook right alongside of me. Now, he is ready to do his own thing and is better prepared to move into the world. Imagine what kind of time that offers me!

11. Compare yourself to no one! This is so important. Who are you competing with? Only yourself. That’s truly it because competing with anyone else is like apples and oranges. Everyone has different strengths, weaknesses, life challenges, ambition and goals. Comparing yourself to anyone else is a waste of energy. If you must compare, then use yourself and your past accomplishments as the measuring stick. Track your steps and then strive for more each week. Your business will soar!

12. Reward yourself. Life is meant to be fun and so is business. In the beginning, it’s more difficult to set income goals, because you are building the foundation. This was always frustrating to me, until I discovered that by setting activity goals in the beginning, I could track my progress and feel good about the steps I was taking along the way to make things happen. And, as my action steps picked up, the rewards kept coming, and my business kept growing, producing those earlier elusive income goals. So, look inward and take outward action. Get busy charting your own game plan and focus forward. Along the way, treat yourself for a job well done. And, it doesn’t have to be extravagant. Make it fun, though!

13. Believe in the power of your dream. The subconscious mind is a funny thing. It does not know the difference between what is real and imagined. So, since YOU are the one who controls your thoughts, daydream some powerful thoughts. Let your mind go nuts as you wander through your own field of dreams. And, while you are “there,” BELIEVE it! Believe it and it will come true.

As a mom, you have the ability to offer the greatest gifts of all to your children and your family. You have the ability to raise happy, wholesome and educated children. You have the ability to contribute to the family income without the need for make-up, pantyhose, or glass ceilings.

What a relief! You truly have the ability to “have it all” and “have enough” without compromising your children along the way. Grasp the opportunity before you! I promise, you will never regret it.

EXPECT Success!

The holiday season can mean a real slow down for home-based business owners, but only if you let it! With a holiday plan for business and some organization, you can keep your business thriving, and propel yourself into the New Year!

Here’s how -

1. Do some follow up now with past contacts. Schedule a phone or face-to-face appointment to review your program or products. How might your products fill a need for your contacts or referrals during the holiday season? Brainstorm some ideas before the meeting.

2. Do you have a product or service that might be perfect for holiday gifts? Schedule some lunch time or afternoon showings for people to preview. Make gift suggestions and offer to gift wrap. Send out email greeting cards to remind people to buy from you! Think about gift baskets and corporate gift giving. This can develop some solid referrals and contacts for the future.

3. Offer a discount coupon to anyone who refers a friend who also purchases between now and the first of the year. Start a VIP purchasing program; or create a “punch card” for buy XX and get one free.

4. Begin setting appointments now for January. Let people know that you realize they are busy and suggest a date in January. Let them know you have time open now and would also love to offer them a date after the holidays.

5. Put yourself in power momentum by scheduling blocks of time daily for contacts and follow up. What is realistic each day? 5 of each? 10 of each? Set the pace and stick to it! Set your calendar up with blocks of business time as far out and consistently as possible.

6. Go on a mission to pass out as many flyers and business cards as humanly possible over the next month. As you do, have a 30 second “commercial” ready that may appeal to what they need right now. Extra cash for the holidays? Convenient and secure online shopping with no crowds, hassles or parking? Delivery? Get creative!

7. Going to a lot of holiday parties and events? Use this time to meet as many people as you can. Ask lots of questions and collect business cards and email addresses. Ask each person if they mind if you keep in touch with them. If they begin asking you questions, be prepared with short, intriguing answers. If they show an interest, schedule a time to contact them in the next few days. Try to avoid saying to much about your business at the party. Schedule, schedule, schedule and then be sure to follow up! And, if you have samples, bring them.

8. Include a business card, flyer, post card or some bit of “shameless promotion” in your holiday cards and correspondence. Don’t send cards? Now you have a good reason to start! Check on that tax deduction! Don’t be obnoxious; just share your enthusiasm.

9. Begin reviewing your past year’s goals and accomplishments. Where can you improve? In what ways can you push yourself on to bigger and better next year? Have your next year’s business plan concrete before January 1!

10. Keep your focus, remember CANI (constant and never ending improvement) and enjoy the season, knowing that you are doing and being the best you can be! Set big expectations and make them happen.

EXPECT Success!

It’s an exciting time in Direct Sales and Network Marketing, especially given the state of our economy. If you knew you could earn between $2000 and $3000 a month working 6-9 hours a week, partying for a living, what would hold you back?

Have you heard of “the Lipstick Factor?’ This is what occurs during tougher economic times, when people begin to buy more affordable things that make them feel good instead of what they need, necessarily.

Listen in as I interview Julie Anne Jones and she shares some exciting information on what is going on in our amazing profession. This is a generic call, and it’s worth noting that Julie Anne is doing a private coaching series for my leadership team. You may want to consider putting together the same for your team!

We also touch on the power of Social Media and how you can develop an online business; booking events through this concept; and how to create an amazing business for yourself through the gift you give to others through your retail/party events! Success in your business all comes down to building relationships! Look at every party/retail event that you do as the chance to leverage the contact list of others; and recruit for the long term. Share the gift of your opportunity at every event.

It’s about much more than immediate cash in your pocket, although that is a nice benefit as well.

Listen in and get excited about the possibilities!

Share your comments and your plan of action for success! Ready to book those party and retail events? I’m excited to hear your plan to pay cash for the holidays.

There is a very popular saying in Network Marketing and it goes something like this – “the fortune is in the follow up.” Consistent follow up is what separates the average networker from the “big hitter.” Following up with your prospects consistently is what makes the numbers game work out in your favor.

Decades of study and tracking by marketers and advertising agencies have proven consistently that most people will not make a decision until they have seen or heard about it at least twice, and most often many more times than that. If you make one contact with someone and then leave it up to him or her to get back with you if interested, you are short changing yourself and stunting the growth of your business.

Most marketers will tell you making seven contacts is not unreasonable in order to get the sale. Unfortunately, most networkers give up the pursuit after the first contact.

Think about how busy you are. Have you ever forgotten to follow up because you got so busy? Well, your prospect is no less busy, so chances are he/she got too busy as well. Don’t make the mistake of reading this as a “not interested” sign.

My first sponsor in network marketing didn’t make a dime for his first ten years in Network Marketing. Today, he is a million dollar a year earner. He consistently follows up and never gave up.

What if I told you that ten years from now, you would be earning one million a year? Would you stick with it? Would you wait it out that long? What if I told you that you wouldn’t make anything for most of that ten years? And, you might invest $30,000 in your education along the way.

Would you stick it out then? Would that million a year still make a difference?

What else could you do right now that offers the promise of one million dollars a year?

You are a winner! You are in for the long haul! Write out that million dollar check now and put it in your wallet or purse. Take it out each time you go to make those follow up calls.

EXPECT Success!
